>> The Midnight Rugby Tournament - 12th-13th June 2009

Welcome to the land of the long summer days, saunas, reindeer and the Midnight Rugby Tournament. Now that we've recuperated after the 2008 Tournament, planning for MRT09 has kicked off.

We've had some great feedback from 2008, and never fear, the good parts will be there: Pitchside Saunas & Massages, Bellysliding Competition, Refreshment stand, Post game functions, Good company, and of course rugby till late.

The 2009 tournament is scheduled for 12-13 June and General Registration is now open. The field will be limited to 15 men's teams and 6 women's teams. Team registration fee is €300, and this will cover a maximum of 15 players. Additional players will be charged at €10 each. A discount of €100 is applied to those teams who register and whose payment is received by us before 31 December 2008. The number of non playing supporters is completely up to you.

>> WRU Women’s Summer Development programme

The WRU Women’s Summer Development Programme has been organised for all senior and age grade players (under 15s and under 18s) on Sunday, August 31 and Sunday, September 7 at Builth Wells RFC.

The Development Programme incorporates skills and fitness for all ages and for under 20s and seniors provides the opportunity to be seen by National coaches. It is therefore essential that anyone who has aspirations to play for Wales or to be selected for the academy attends this programme. National coaches cannot be expected to come and watch fixtures if players do not make the effort to attend development days such as these.

The days will run from 10am to 3pm delivered by a range of guest coaches. Please arrive at 9.30am for a prompt 10.00am start. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of fluids.

The cost of the programme to players is £10 (total). More details can be found at www.wru.co.uk
